What is RAVAS’ QHSE vision?
How does RAVAS ensure quality and compliance throughout the entire product lifecycle?
What role does Quality & Compliance play within RAVAS?
The Quality & Compliance department is integrated throughout the organization and is built around three key pillars:
- Quality Control (QC): Inspects incoming goods and identifies deviations such as damage or defective displays, helping us maintain the highest product quality.
- Quality Assurance (QA): Manages the quality management system, optimizes procedures, and ensures compliance with legislation and stakeholder requirements.
- Compliance: Ensures our products meet applicable laws and regulations, including REACH and RoHS (restrictions on hazardous substances), while proactively preparing for future requirements such as the Cyber Resilience Act and NIS2.
How does RAVAS ensure consistent quality in production and delivery?
How are suppliers evaluated on quality?
New suppliers
- Before entering into a partnership, we use a dedicated supplier assessment checklist.
- We review quality certifications and evaluate suppliers on ESG criteria (Environmental, Social & Governance) and inclusivity standards, including adherence to our Code of Conduct.
Existing suppliers
- We conduct annual evaluations to assess on-time delivery performance, the number of non-conformities, and how effectively issues are resolved.
How does RAVAS use feedback for continuous improvement?
What does ‘certified weighing’ (Legal-for-Trade) mean?
This means that customers are permitted to issue invoices based on the weight recorded by our systems. This is governed by global guidelines such as OIML, with NTEP being the US equivalent. We work with two main standards: R76 for non-automatic weighing instruments and R51 (MID 31/32) for automatic weighing instruments.
Do RAVAS systems comply with standards such as OIML, MID or NTEP?
Yes, we offer systems that comply with these standards. Which standard applies depends on the specific weighing system and its application. With every purchase, you will receive a Declaration of Conformity detailing the relevant current standards and specifications.
How is RAVAS monitored through audits and inspections?
RAVAS Europe B.V. is accredited by the NMi (Netherlands Metrology Institute), which monitors our inspectors and our quality management system. In addition, we carry out an internal audit programme across various departments to test procedures and remain innovative by seeking an ‘outside perspective’. We also carry out supplier audits and learn from customer audits.
