When do you have to weigh?

Crucial moments in air cargo processes

Mobile weighing is revolutionizing the air cargo industry and offers accurate and efficient weight management at various critical points in the logistics process. This is how mobile weighing solutions improve air cargo handling activities:

Weighing incoming goods
When goods arrive at an airline or storage facility, they are immediately weighed as part of the unloading process. Forklift trucks equipped with advanced weighing systems, such as integrated weighing forks or carriage plates, measure the exact weight of pallets while they are in motion. This initial weight measurement plays a crucial role in guaranteeing accurate planning and efficient processing throughout the logistics chain.

Weighing airplane pallets
For large airplane pallets, also known as slave pallets, the accuracy of the weight is equally important. These pallets are moved by specialized forklift trucks called slave trucks. These are equipped with robust mobile weighing systems. Knowing the exact weight and volume of slave pallets is very important for balancing the airplane's load and for accurate fuel calculations, thus guaranteeing both the safety and the cost efficiency of air cargo operations.
