Reliable performance starts with proper maintenance

Service and maintenance for mobile weighing systems

Mobile weighing systems are often used daily and under varying operating conditions. Periodic maintenance helps identify wear and technical issues at an early stage and supports the reliability of your system.

During a service visit, a RAVAS service engineer inspects the key components of your mobile weighing system. Depending on your requirements, maintenance can be combined with calibration, certification or verification.

This allows you to choose the service solution that best suits your system, application and operational requirements.

  • Periodic maintenance to support reliable operation

  • Inspection of key system components

  • Calibration, certification or verification tailored to your application

  • Service provided by experienced RAVAS service engineers

  • Opportunity to extend warranty coverage through the RAVAS Care Programme

Maintenance packages for mobile weighing systems

Not every mobile weighing system is used in the same way. That is why RAVAS offers different combinations of maintenance, calibration and verification.

The most suitable option depends on the type of weighing system, how it is used and whether official certification is required. Below you will find the available service packages.

Do you use another type of weighing equipment, such as a bench scale? RAVAS can support these applications as well.

Please note: for hydraulic weighing systems, maintenance can only be performed in combination with a reference weighing beam.

Confidence in the accuracy of your weighing system

Calibration, certification and re-calibration of mobile weighing systems

To ensure accurate and reliable weighing results, it is important to have mobile weighing systems calibrated at regular intervals. During a calibration, the system is checked to ensure it is still measuring within the specified tolerances and, if necessary, readjusted to guarantee correct measurement.

Depending on the application, RAVAS can combine maintenance with calibration, certification or re-verification. Certification and re-verification may be necessary when an organisation needs to demonstrate that a weighing system complies with internal quality requirements, customer-specific requirements or statutory regulations. This is important, for example, when goods are invoiced on the basis of weight or when measurement results must be verifiable during audits or quality controls.

RAVAS offers support with various forms of calibration and certification, including ISO calibration, OIML certification and Legal for Trade certification.

  • Ensuring accurate and reliable weighing results

  • Comply with regulations through certification for trade and internal controls

  • Calibration on site or at the RAVAS workshop

  • Various certification options depending on your application

Additional security for your mobile weighing system

RAVAS Care programme

The RAVAS Care programme combines periodic maintenance with additional protection for your mobile weighing system. The programme is designed for organisations that want to keep their systems reliable and operational over the long term.

When purchasing a new system, you can choose extended warranty coverage. The system is then sealed, representing an all-inclusive warranty during the first 12 months after purchase or commissioning.

Following the annual maintenance visit, RAVAS reseals the indicator and activates the extended warranty for the next 12-month period. This ensures that the system is regularly inspected while allowing you to continue benefiting from the advantages of the RAVAS Care Programme.

New systems can be enrolled in the programme within the first year after purchase.

Please note: once the seal is broken, the warranty is void.

Frequently asked questions about service and maintenance

Do you have any questions about the maintenance, calibration or certification of your mobile weighing system? Below you will find answers to a number of frequently asked questions. Can’t find your question here? Then take a look at our full list of frequently asked questions or get in touch with our Service team.

Why is regular maintenance important for a mobile weighing system?

Regular maintenance helps to monitor the technical condition of a mobile weighing system. The service engineer checks the key components and can identify any technical issues in good time. This ensures reliable operation and helps to minimise the risk of unplanned downtime.

How often does maintenance need to be carried out?

We recommend having your weighing system professionally serviced at least once a year. However, the ideal frequency depends on the intensity of use and the environmental conditions – for example, whether the forklift operates outdoors in the rain, or in a dusty or dirty environment. In the case of intensive use or when managing multiple weighing systems, we recommend a bespoke service contract.

What is the difference between calibration and re-calibration?

Calibration involves checking whether a weighing system is still measuring accurately and, if necessary, adjusting the system. Verification applies to legal-for-trade weighing systems and checks whether the system still complies with the statutory requirements.
