Maintenance packages for mobile weighing systems
Not every mobile weighing system is used in the same way. That is why RAVAS offers different combinations of maintenance, calibration and verification.
The most suitable option depends on the type of weighing system, how it is used and whether official certification is required. Below you will find the available service packages.
Do you use another type of weighing equipment, such as a bench scale? RAVAS can support these applications as well.
Maintenance and calibration with reference weight
For applications where a calibration certificate is not required.
If you do not require an official calibration certificate, you can opt for a service combined with a calibration using a reference weight.
Our service technician will visit you in a service van without certified calibration weights. They will carry out the maintenance and then calibrate the system using a reference weight, so that the accuracy of your weighing system is checked and verified.
We are not authorised to issue a certificate for this type of calibration, but you will, of course, receive a work order detailing the work carried out.
Maintenance + ISO calibration
For internally used systems without initial calibration.
Do you use a system that was not supplied as a calibrated unit, is used solely for internal purposes, and do you require an official calibration certificate? If so, a service combined with an ISO calibration is the right choice.
In this case, an accredited calibrator will visit your premises annually or more frequently. The calibrator arrives in a lorry carrying 2,000 kg of certified calibration weights. Maintenance is carried out first, after which the system is fully calibrated in accordance with ISO standards.
Afterwards, you will receive an official calibration certificate, which you can use during audits and internal checks to demonstrate that the system is functioning correctly.
Maintenance + Recalibration
For calibrated weighing systems that you use for commercial purposes.
Do you use a calibrated weighing system (assembled at the factory) with calibrated components and do you invoice on the basis of the weighed weight? If so, this option applies to you.
In this case, an accredited calibration officer will visit your premises annually or more frequently. They will arrive in a lorry carrying 2,000 kg of certified calibration weights. Maintenance is carried out first, after which the entire system is recalibrated.
Once the work is complete, you will receive an official certificate. This enables you to demonstrate to regulatory bodies during audits and inspections that your weighing system fully complies with the relevant requirements.
Confidence in the accuracy of your weighing system
Calibration, certification and re-calibration of mobile weighing systems
To ensure accurate and reliable weighing results, it is important to have mobile weighing systems calibrated at regular intervals. During a calibration, the system is checked to ensure it is still measuring within the specified tolerances and, if necessary, readjusted to guarantee correct measurement.
Depending on the application, RAVAS can combine maintenance with calibration, certification or re-verification. Certification and re-verification may be necessary when an organisation needs to demonstrate that a weighing system complies with internal quality requirements, customer-specific requirements or statutory regulations. This is important, for example, when goods are invoiced on the basis of weight or when measurement results must be verifiable during audits or quality controls.
RAVAS offers support with various forms of calibration and certification, including ISO calibration, OIML certification and Legal for Trade certification.

Frequently asked questions about service and maintenance
Regular maintenance helps to monitor the technical condition of a mobile weighing system. The service engineer checks the key components and can identify any technical issues in good time. This ensures reliable operation and helps to minimise the risk of unplanned downtime.
How often does maintenance need to be carried out?
We recommend having your weighing system professionally serviced at least once a year. However, the ideal frequency depends on the intensity of use and the environmental conditions – for example, whether the forklift operates outdoors in the rain, or in a dusty or dirty environment. In the case of intensive use or when managing multiple weighing systems, we recommend a bespoke service contract.
What is the difference between calibration and re-calibration?
Calibration involves checking whether a weighing system is still measuring accurately and, if necessary, adjusting the system. Verification applies to legal-for-trade weighing systems and checks whether the system still complies with the statutory requirements.
