The RCS PLUS hydraulic scale, precise and user friendly
Introducing the RCS PLUS RAVAS sets the new standard for oil pressure weighing on forklift trucks in the market. The RCS PLUS is an accurate hydraulic scale, very user friendly and fitted with modern technology for Bluetooth and WiFi communication.
Accurate hydraulic weighing on forklifts
The RCS PLUS weighs by measuring the pressure in the hydraulic circuit of the forklift truck. This pressure is measured with a temperature compensated sensor in a valve block. During a controlled descent of the load on the forks, the RCS PLUS measures the oil pressure in the mast at a high frequency. The indicator software turns these measurements into an accurate weight indication of the load of the forks. The maximum tolerance is 0.2% of the weighing capacity. The RCS PLUS has a standard capacity up to 10 Ton and is optionally available up for weighing up to 30 Ton.
Excellent for weight checks
The RCS PLUS is an excellent tool for weight checks on a fork lift truck, for example at goods reception, determining shipping weights, preventing overloads, stock-taking, stock control etcetera. Used with attachments, like a clamp or rotator, the RCS PLUS offers the best, most accurate and cost efficient hydraulic solution available on the market. The RCS PLUS is easy to install, very user friendly and virtually maintenance free.

User friendly touch panel
The RCS PLUS' indicator is renowned from the successful iForks system and is modified on a number of areas especially for use in the RCS PLUS. There's a special button on the touch panel of the indicator to initiate weighing.
A special button for weighing
The RCS PLUS indicator has a dedicated button for weighing. As this button operates the main function of the system it is coloured strikingly red. This increases the user friendliness and correct operation of the weighing system. The weighing button activates the hydraulic weighing cycle by opening the valve in the valve block using it's internal relay.
Countdown during hydraulic weighing
The procedure for weighing is easy. The load is lifted to the marked reference height on the mast and accordingly it can be weighed. That moment the valve in the RCS PLUS' valve block opens and the measurement is done. The indicator counts down during the weighing. After pushing the weighing key, the display counts down from 4….3….2….1…. then shows the weight.
Dynamic zero value
The RCS PLUS has, as it's called a dynamic zero value. In fact this display value reflects the oil pressure in the mast's hydraulic circuit when the forks are unloaded. After unloading the forks the display value returns to the zero point, providing the operator with actual information on a possible drift of the calibrated system's zero point during use. Zero point drift can occur as during the use of the forklift truck the oil in the mast warms up which influences the pressure in the system and the zero point calibration accordingly. The dynamic zero value provides this information to the forklift driver. A possible zero point drift can easily be corrected by doing a zero weighing and restoring the zero point. Then the system is ready for accurate weighing again.
Mobile scales supply information on material flows. Information that helps raising efficiency and reduce the cost of intralogistics processes. But in order to that, the information needs to be made available to the right people and the right software platforms in an organisation. That's why the new RCS PLUS was developed for easy integration in information networks, just as easy as a barcode reader. Weight data and complementary information is stored and transferred to WMS or ERP systems in an efficient way.
Combinations of data communication
The RCS PLUS indicator has two available com-ports to which Bluetooth or WiFi hardware - and of course a printer - can be installed. Also a serial RS232 output is available. Combined use of the two com-ports allows a printer on COM1 to, for example make a printout after loading a truck to go with the bill of lading , and a WiFi output on COM2 to store the data centrally on a company network at the same time. The possible combinations of data communication on the two COM-ports are RS232 and Bluetooth or RS232 and WiFi. RS232 also means a printer connection, as the printer uses the RS232 protocol from the indicator. The Connectivity options are complemented with the UniMobile and UniWin software products for processing information flows on PDA's, truck terminals and in WMS systems.
A printer can be installed easily and printing is available over the full range of the scale. The printout contains date and time, gross and (possibly) net weight and manually entered codes per weighing. Both a thermal and a dot-matrix printer are available.
Display backlight for optimal readout
The display is equipped with backlight, making it perfectly readable. The green light switches on and off when operating the weighing system.
Simple and quick calibration
The RCS PLUS system is standard calibrated with one weight. For example. On a forklift truck with a payload capacity of 2,500 kg, the maximum scale capacity is set accordingly. Then, the scale can be calibrated with a known weight of for example 2,000 kg. With this 2,000 kg load the indicator registers the oil pressure in hydraulic circuit of the mast and stores this value. The intelligent weighing system is capable of accurate calculation of all weights within the maximum capacity of the forklift, based on this single calibration value. This single-point calibration is done in only 5 minutes and is in general sufficient for proper and accurate functioning of the scale. The weighing system is now ready for use.
3-Point calibration for increased linearity
In specific cases the application or the condition of the forklift's mast may requires to calibrate the hydraulic weighing system with multiple weights in order to improve the linearity of the scale. To increase linearity the RCS PLUS can be calibrated following a three-point calibration procedure. This means that along the full capacity range three reference points (oil pressure values) are stored in the indicator. On a 2,5 Ton forklift truck, for example, the scale can be calibrated with 500 kg, 1,500 kg and 2,500 kg weights. The indicator is then programmed with three reference points, improving the accuracy of the weighing system. Mind you that the 3-point calibration is a tool developed for optimizing the correct functioning of the RCS PLUS on forklift trucks of which the mast is in a lesser condition. Or light quality masts on low capacity forklifts (i.e. maximum 1,000 kg).

HOW RCS PLUS WORKS

Warning: the 0.2% tolerance can only be guaranteed if the truck mast is in good condition and the weighing system is used correctly. Rolls and bearings in the mast should be properly lubricated. During weighing, the mast should be in vertical position, the load should be placed in the centre of the forks.
