The Austrian Post has ordered 51 Jungheinrich AMW 22.2 pallet truck scales. The trucks will be used at the goods receiving and shipping departments of regional sorting centres. One of the applications is avoiding the overloading of vans and lorries, which is quite costly in Austria, as both the driver and the company are fined.

It’s not the first time that European postal services have ordered RAVAS mobile scales. Deutsche Post has over 200 pallet truck scales in use, at 80 different locations in Germany. Earlier this year the Italian Post ordered 19 scales for electrical pallet trucks, to weigh the Lire’s that the Italians changed for Euros, before they are melted down. In 2002 the Italian Post already ordered 60 sets of RWV Autonome forks for weighing on forklift trucks.
