At the distribution centres of the British postal service mail bags are transported in roll containers that are stacked for temporary storage. Safe procedures say that the roll containers cannot be loaded with more than 1,500 kg. For weighing the thousands of containers, Royal Mail equips its 500 Hyster forklift trucks with a hydraulic load indication system.
