The proper amount of fruit and vegetables is taken from full pallets on the Jungheinrich electric pallet trucks with scale to compile the orders. The mobile weighing systems allow a higher handling speed in order putting and therefore create a higher order capacity at the same amount of personnel and trucks.
In order to minimise errors during order picking, 3PL provider Scheren has equipped his STILL order picking trucks with integrated scales. The warehouse management system interrogates the scale for the net weight increase after each order line picked, and compares this actual net weight with the theoretical weight of the articles in the order line. Only if the weight corresponds, does the order picker receives the next order line on his truck terminal.
Logistic service provider PaKo does the order picking and distribution for 171 Mäc-Geiz shops in Germany. The problem was that there were too many complaints from the shops about goods not delivered.
